A National call to women-serving
organisations across canada
WEC has spent nearly 25 years serving as connective tissue for the women-centred community economic development ecosystem in Canada, linking frontline organizations, community knowledge, and public policy.
Right now, we are in a deliberate strategic moment. Before we decide what comes next, we are going back to the organizations doing the work on the ground to ask a simple question:
“What do you actually need from a national body like ours?”
That's the main reason for this call.
what the conversation looks like
We are hosting one-on-one, 60-minute conversations with women-serving organizations across Canada, partners new and existing, to hear directly from the frontlines.
We will ask about:
Your organization’s current priorities and pressures
What is working in the sector and what is missing
What gaps a national organization like WEC could meaningfully fill
Where collaboration might make sense
Your insights will directly shape WEC’s strategic direction.
We offer a $100 honorarium in recognition of your time and expertise.
Who we are looking to hear from
Canadian organizations working in any of the following areas are encouraged to reach out:
Women’s economic empowerment
Employment and skills training
Newcomer and immigrant women’s services
Poverty reduction
Disability and inclusion
Grassroots community economic development
If your work touches the lives of women facing systemic barriers, we want to hear from you.
Spots are limited. We book calls on a rolling basis. Schedule a call today or contact us if you have questions.
National
survey
In July 2026, we will be launching a survey of the women-serving community economic development ecosystem.
If you would like to receive information about the survey, please complete this short form.
Psst... don't worry; we won't bombard your inbox. We'll only send updates about the survey and this work.
